1966 Trumpy 55 "Windrush" , one of the last Trumpys built, will be available approximately June 1. This elegant vessel is in the water and waiting for some final items to be delivered. The Trumpy shipbuilding legacy began five generations ago in the coastal city of Burgen, Norway, where Casper Trumpy owned a shipyard. Casper’s son, John, grew up working in the family shipyard and obtained a degree in naval architecture in Berlin, Germany. Upon the death of Casper, John moved to America. John Trumpy, Sr.’s intuitive designs answered the demands of an increasingly wealthy class of Americans. The American yacht market favored fast commuter yachts.
